I called ahead and asked if I would be able to pick up the bike when I arrived at 8pm on Wednesday, they said it was no problem and that they were open 24hrs a day! After a grueling 24hr, 3 leg, middle seats flight I found my way to the United Cargo building by way of the SFO employee shuttle and a very nice driver. Then I found out that I couldn’t pick up my bike because it needed to be cleared by customs, who were open but not for me because this was a personal item and not a live animal or commercial shipment. So I returned today, Thursday, to go to customs (open 8am-4pm) and then to get the bike. Everything went smoothly and only one minor thing was broken on the bike…the ram mount that has nothing on the end of that I use for a helmet holder.
