Description

Short-ish ride from El Calafate to Torres del Paine and an easy border crossing. Met a couple of guys on BMW’s at the border. They had no plan so we decided to look for a camp spot together. There was some ominous looking weather around Torres but luckily it was fast moving and we got some good views of the mountains. Was a really nice ride through the park and found a great, free, bush camp spot off the road a bit in the park thanks to Tucker! On the way we saw a Guanaco (llama looking guy) running for it’s life with a big gash on its hind legs…figure it just got away from a puma or some other animal. Had a beer at a cafeteria on a very blue lake. The wind at night was intense even with all the trees and bushes around us. My tent isn’t really an all-weather tent and it would compress down on top of me during the big gusts…kind of hard to sleep when your tent is punching you in the face.
